Lincoln High school will be hosting an event tomorrow night to support its alum contestant on “American Idol.”
Free to community and open to the community, the event will be held at the high school auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to cheer on Lincoln’s own Matt Giraud.
Concessions sold at the event will benefit the Lincoln High School choirs, according to a release issued by Lincoln today.
In the top seven, Giraud will be fending off his spot on the Fox Network’s nationally televised talent contest. The judges used a “one-time-only save” Wednesday night to secure Giraud’s place on the show this week. However, the move means two people will be eliminated this week.
Contestants will be singing 70s disco-style songs on the show this week.
“Be sure to cast your votes following the show,” Lincoln’s release said. “Matt needs your votes.”
The show will broadcast at 8 p.m. Tuesday on WJBK Fox 2 Detroit.
