Ypsilanti Township authorizes litigation against Liberty Square

Ford plant granted tax exemption by township

Morning fire destroys law office on Ecorse

Several fire departments are still on the scene spraying water on a fire that ripped through an office space early this morning.

The Ypsilanti Fire Department was notified of the fire, at 316 Ecorse Road, at approximately 7:15 a.m. according to Captain Dan Cain. The department was there within the minute to see the entire first floor, toward the back of the building, engulfed in flames.

Cain said within a couple seconds of being on the scene the second floor collapsed and YFD, along with several other responding fire departments worked on the flames from the perimeter of the building.

The fire is believed to have begun in the rear corner of the building, which houses the law office of Block & Weider, no injuries reported and it is unclear at this time how the fire began.
