Police say an unarmed robbery took place last night near Eastern Michigan University's campus.
The event occurred on the 300 block of Jarvis, east of campus, at 9:15 p.m. last night. The information was sent by the EMU Department of Public Safety this morning at 3 a.m.
The report said an EMU student was approached by two males who began to punch the victim repeatedly, then took his cell phone and fled the area.
"The suspects fled in an unknown direction," the report read. "The victim suffered minor injuries, but refused medical attention."
The two suspects are described as two white males, approximately 5’6-5’8. One suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and had blond hair, the other was wearing a black hoodie.
The report said the Ypsilanti City Police Department is investigating a robbery. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Ypsilanti Police at 734-483-9510.
