The Washtenaw Sheriff’s office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday evening in Scio Township.
The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Plymouth resident John Raymond Haro, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 35-year-old female, also from Plymouth, was transported to University of Michigan Hospital by HVA with non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic investigators determined that a 1991 Plymouth 2 door was traveling northbound on Parker Road in Scio Township and failed to stop at the intersection of Parker Road and Dexter-Chelsea Road. The vehicle left the road and struck numerous trees before coming to rest.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Traffic Division is currently investigating this crash. It is believed that both speed and alcohol are factors. The use of restraint devices is still being investigated.
