Rifle used in assault
A 27-year-old Superior Township resident was arrested for aggravated assault Monday after allegedly using a rifle during an argument with friends.
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 9100 block of Macarthur Boulevard at 4:30 a.m. for a disorderly person complaint. Police said the call was about an altercation with friends over stolen money.
Police said one subject pulled out a .22 caliber rifle and demanded the money. They said no shots were fired, as the rifle was used to assault the subject. Only minor injuries were received.
Police said the subject will be arraigned to today.
Burglary
A laptop computer was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday.
Deputies responded to the 1300 block of Concord Street at 4:50 p.m. and discovered entry was gained through the back door.
There are no suspects at this time.
