Armed robbery, shot fired, prostitution

Armed Robbery
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office plans to release video footage in an armed robbery in Ypsilanti Township later today.
The incident took place at 3 a.m. at the 1700 block of Huron Street. Police said it was reported that the suspect walked into the store, implied he had a weapon and demanded money and Newport 100 cigarettes.
Police said the suspect left the store with a “small amount of cash” and cigarettes. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a 25-year-old black male wearing blue work pants, a gray tank-top with a gray shirt wrapped around his face. He is described as 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
Shots fired
A 26-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested Tuesday after deputies responded to a shot fired complaint in Ypsilanti Township
Deputies responded to the 2600 block of International at 1 p.m., where it was reported that a gunshot had been fired from within an apartment.
Police said residents in the location were in possession of a shotgun, marijuana and shotgun shells. No injuries were reported.
The arrested township resident was transported to the Washtenaw County Jail.
Prostitution
Three females were arrested in a prostitution sting conducted by deputies in Ypsilanti Township Tuesday night.
All three suspects, ranging in age from 29 to 35 years old, were transported to the Washtenaw County Jail. All but one suspect, who was from Ann Arbor, were Ypsilanti Township residents.
Police said the three suspects approached an undercover deputy, offering sexual acts for money.
A 33-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested at 5:30 p.m. on Michigan Avenue near Wiard Road. A 29-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested at 5:40 p.m. on Emerick near Maus Street. A 35-year-old Ann Arbor resident was arrested at 10 p.m. on Michigan Avenue near Spencer.
Police said the report will be forwarded to the prosecutor.
Burglary
A purse was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Tuesday.
Deputies responded to the 1900 block of Chevrolet at 8 a.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained through an unlocked window.
Suspects are unknown at this time.
Burglary
A potential burglar was scared away from an Ypsilanti Township home Tuesday when the resident inside screamed.
Deputies responded to the 1300 block of E. Cross Street at 11 a.m., where it was reported a subject was seen cutting the window screen with a knife. Police said the homeowner screamed and the subject was scared away.
Nothing was taken. Suspects are unknown at this time.
Burglary
An Ypsilanti Township resident awoke this morning to the sound of dishes breaking in her kitchen.
Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Redleaf Lane at 1:40 a.m., where it was discovered the kitchen window screen was removed, and the window was open.
“Other screens throughout the residence were also taken off the windows, but nothing was taken,” a report issued by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office today said.
Suspects are unknown at this time.
