The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department is asking the community to be on the lookout for a suspicious vehicle believed to be connected to several larcenies over the past week.
Most of the complaints have taken place on Roxbury Drive, Warwick Drive, Amrhein, Newbury Drive and Streamwood in Ypsilanti Township. The suspects are taking GPS systems, laptop computers, camera and bags left inside the vehicles according to a sheriff’s crime alert.
The alert also states garage door openers have been removed and more than 10 garages were entered today. The sheriff’s department is asking residents to make sure all vehicles are locked and valuables are secured in residences.
The suspicious vehicle is described as an older model Cougar, gold or beige in color, with a loud exhaust.
Officials are also asking community members to gather a license plate number and further descriptions if possible.
“Do not place yourself in danger, just be a good witness for us,” a crime alert states. "Call 911 immediately."
