A 24-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the abdomen this afternoon in Superior Township.
According to a release from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, the victim's father, a 42-year-old man was arrested for the shooting.
The incident occurred at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Macarthur Boulevard and Clark Road. Police said a “family altercation” escalated between the two had escalated to the shooting.
“The victim was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital where after surgery he is now in stable condition,” the release said. “The father was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail.”
Police said the father will be arraigned Wednesday morning for attempted murder.
