Burglaries, attempted home invasions in police summary

Felonious Assault
A man was assaulted, thrown down a flight of stairs and threatened with a rifle in Ypsilanti Township on Sunday. 

The victim told Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies that he was hanging out with friends at an apartment on the 2600 block of International Drive around 10 p.m. He reported that he left the apartment and walked up to the third floor, where three males were waiting.  

The victim said the men then assaulted him, threw him down a flight of stairs and continued to assault him at the bottom of the stairs. They then threatened him with a rifle.
 
The three suspects fled the area and the victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  
According to the WCSD, it appears the victim was not the intended target of the assault.

Two of the suspects were dressed in all black and wearing ski masks. The other was wearing a blue shirt with jeans. An investigation is ongoing.
 
Burglary
Two televisions, and Nintendo Wii video game console and a Playstation videogame console were stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home on Saturday.  

At approximately 2 p.m. Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of LeForge Drive where it was found entry was gained through a north door. No suspects are known at this time. 

Attempted Home Invasion
A homeowner scared away several people trying to kick in his door on Saturday. 

At approximately 4:40 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 2500 block of International Drive in Ypsilanti Township for an attempted home invasion. 

The homeowner reported hearing a knocking on the door, which he didn’t answer. The knocking continued until the suspects were attempting to kick in the door.  

The homeowner said he yelled at the suspects through the door and they fled. The suspects are unknown at this time.  

Attempted Home Invasion
Two men tried to burglarize a Superior Township home on Sunday, but fled before they stole anything. 

At approximately 5 p.m. Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1700 block of Savannah Lane where the homeowner reported he heard a loud knock at the door, went to open it and discovered it was already open.  

Entry was attempted by prying open the front door. Neighbors said they saw two black males running through the backyard at the time of the attempted burglary.  

The suspects are both described as 17 to 22-years-old. One was wearing a tan colored Carhartt jacket with a hood up. The other was wearing a black jacket with a hood up. An investigation is ongoing. 

Burglary
A cash register was stolen from a business on the 1300 block of East Michigan Avenue on Saturday.  

At approximately 11 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the business where it was found the front window had been smashed in.  

No suspects are known at this time.  

Burglary
A Nintendo Wii videogame console, $25 and a large collection of Lia Sophia jewelry was stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home on Sunday.
 
At approximately 7 p.m. Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Forest Court where it was found entry was gained by prying open the front door sometime over the weekend.  

Suspects are unknown at this time.  

Attempted Home Invasion
An Ypsilanti man scared off three burglars as they tried to get into his house on Sunday. 

At approximately 4:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 bock of Green Road where the man reported that he was watching television when he heard someone yelling outside his living room window.  

When he went to the window he found three black males standing at it and trying to cut his screen with a razor.
 
The man said he yelled at the subjects to get away and all three fled. 

The suspects were described as being in their early 20’s. One was wearing all red and the others were wearing all black.

The man reported that earlier in the day two black males had knocked on his door and asked him where the money of the pot was.  

When he responded that he didn’t know what they were talking about they fled.  No suspects are known at this time.
