Armed robbery, home invasion suspects arrested in weekend police summary

Drive-by shooting
A drive-by shooting occurred Saturday on the 800 block of Watling Street in Ypsilanti.

The shots were fired from a tan or gold vehicle with four or five occupants.

No one was inside the home.

A man living in the home originally told Ypsilanti Police he didn’t know who would have done it, but later said he an on-going dispute with someone over property damage.

The case remains under investigation.

Armed robbery
A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in Ypsilanti on Friday night.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Green Street for a robbery that had just occurred.

Upon coming into the area of the scene, officers tried to stop two suspects who matched the description of the robbers.

Both fled in opposite directions but were apprehended by the police.

One subject had the victim’s wallet in his pocket.

The victim told police the suspects put a gun to his head, took his money, cell phone and keys, then took him to a vacant apartment where they made him lay down on the ground.

Home invasion
A burglar was stopped by the owner of a home from which he was trying to steal several items.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Adams Street in Ypsilanti for a burglary in progress.

Dispatch reported being able to hear fight over the phone.

The suspect was captured by the owner and several witnesses who saw him jump from a second story window.

Once the suspect saw the officers he ran, but he was quickly apprehended.

A bag belonging to the suspect contained a laptop, watch and cigarettes that belonged to the home’s owner.

One of the witnesses suffered a broken nose in the struggle.

Stolen vehicle
A white Chevy Tahoe was stolen from an Ypsilanti Township apartment complex sometime Friday night.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 8700 block of Spinnaker Way at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday to investigate.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Stolen vehicle
A vehicle was stolen from the 8800 block of Spinnaker Way in Ypsilanti Township on Friday night.

Deputies were dispatched around 10 p.m. for a complaint that a black 1977 Sierra pick up truck was stolen from the parking lot.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Larceny from a motor vehicle
Three vehicles had multiple items stolen from them on Friday night in Ypsilanti Township.

Deputies were dispatched at approximately 9 a.m. Saturday morning for the larcenies, which occurred on the 6200 block of Boyne Drive, 6200 block of Vail Drive and 6100 block of Aspen Way.

It was reported that windows were smashed in two of the cars and the third was entered through an unlocked door.

Several GPS systems, a wallet, an Ipod, headphones and a blue tooth were all stolen.
Suspects are unknown at this time.

Stolen vehicle
A vehicle was stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home on Friday night.

Deputies were dispatched at approximately 9:20 a.m. Saturday morning to the 400 block of Woodlawn Avenue where it was reported a bronze 2008 Saturn Aura was stolen from the driveway during the night.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
An Ypsilanti Township home was ransacked on Friday.

Deputies were dispatched at 7 p.m. to the 1300 block of Candlewood Street for a burglary.

The home had been ransacked but nothing had appeared to be taken.

No suspects are known at this time.

Stolen vehicle
A car was stolen from the 200 block of Washington Street in Ypsilanti on Friday night.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday to where the black 2000 Honda Civic had been stolen.

No suspects are known at this time.
