Child pornography arrest, hit and run leads to DUI

Child pornography
A 41-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested Thursday for possessing child pornography.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant in the 4700 block of Munger Road at 7 p.m., where it was discovered the resident was in possession of “child pornography materials.”

Police said the suspect was arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail, where he will be arraigned later today.

Hit and run leads to drunken driving arrest
A 26-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested Thursday after a hit and run lead to the discovery of her drunken driving.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Harris Road at 11 p.m., where a hit and run accident had been reported.

Police said the driver struck a parked car on Harris Road, and fled the scene. Police said the driver had her young child in the car.

When deputies located the driver, it was discovered she was operating the vehicle under the influence of suspected intoxicants. She was arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail.

Burglary
Two flat-screen televisions, one Nintendo Wii games systems, multiple Wii games, a stereo, two mink coats, a laptop and miscellaneous jewelry were reported stolen from a Superior Township home Thursday.

Deputies responded to the 9200 block of Panama Avenue at 3:30 p.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained through the back door.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
A 50-inch Samsung TV, several game systems and several other items were reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Thursday.

Deputies responded to the 6800 block of Popular Drive at 4 p.m., where it couldn’t be determined how entry was made into the residence.

Aside from the television, one Xbox 360, one PlayStation 3, one Nintendo Wii, one Nintendo DS, multiple games for each system, multiple DVDs, multiple Blue Ray discs, one Sony digital camera, one Sharp 32-inch Aquos TV, and more than $200 worth of alcohol were reported stolen.

Suspects are unknown at this time.
