Crash leads to drunken driving arrest

Drunken driving
A 21-year-old Pittsfield Township resident was arrested this morning for driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle in front of Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Two deputies were conducting stationary radar on Rawsonville Road, south of I-94 in Ypsilanti Township, when they witnessed a vehicle pass by them and lose control.

The driver, who was uninjured, crashed into a park bench and then a fire hydrant, police said. After discovering he was under the influence of suspected alcohol, the driver was arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail.

Stolen vehicle
A 2002 green Artic Cat ATV was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the 1700 block of Smith Street at 7 p.m., where it was reported the ATV had been taken out of the shed during the past week.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
A 42-inch LCD television was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the 1300 block of Wendell Street at 5:15 a.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained by breaking a rear window during the night.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
Two prescription pill bottles and a cell phone were reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Nash Street, where it was discovered entry had been gained through the basement window.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
Two digital cameras, one DVD recorder, four gold rings and two religious Hindu items were reported stolen from a Superior Township home Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the 1800 block of Savannah Lane at 8 p.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained through a basement window.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
A DVD/VCR, survival knife and Nintendo DS were reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Rue Willette Blvd., where it was discovered entry had been gained by smashing in the side door with a hammer.

Suspects are unknown at this time.
