Man beaten, stabbed in today’s police summary

Attempted child luring
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man who reportedly tried to lure a 14-year-old boy into his car in Ypsilanti Township on Thursday.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Whitman and Allen streets, where the boy reported he was approached by a white male in his mid-20’s who was driving a tan “box” jeep.

The man asked for direction to I-94, and the boy ignored him and continued walking. A short time later the man returned and asked for directions again before inviting the boy into his car.

The boy fled unharmed.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Felonious assault
A man was reportedly randomly beat up and stabbed in the leg Ypsilanti Township early Friday morning.

At approximately 12 a.m., Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an area near Mansfield and Congress streets for an assault that had just occurred.

The victim reported he was walking along a pedestrian path when three men came out of the woods, jumped him, stabbed him in the leg and fled on foot.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

One suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20’s and was wearing a FUBU sweatshirt with light colored jeans. A second suspect was described as a black male around 14-years-old. No description was provided for the third suspect.

Burglary
Three shotguns, one rifle and an HD recorder were stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Thursday.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of Laurel Avenue, where they discovered entry was gained through the kitchen window.

No suspects are known at this time.

Burglary
Financial documents and a wedding ring were stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Thursday.

Deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Woodburn Drive at approximately 5:45 p.m. It was discovered entry was gained by prying open a sliding glass door.

No suspects are known at this time.
