Vehicle theft, burglary in police summary

Burglary
Two Ypsilanti men were apprehended on Wednesday by police for a burglary in Ypsilanti Township and an attempted burglary in Ypsilanti.

At 1:30 p.m. a woman on the 800 block of Cornell Street in Ypsilanti called police to report a man attempting to kick in her door.

She said the suspect then fled in a car with two other men, which Ypsilanti Police officers were able to locate.

The suspects led police on a high-speed chase, then jumped from the car and ran on foot.
Two were caught and a third remains at-large.

The 18 and 19-year old suspects were taken into custody by Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies and are also being charged for a burglary that occurred on the 1600 block of Laurel Drive in Ypsilanti Township.

The owner of the stolen property from the Laurel Drive burglary was able to identify her property at the police station.

Both suspects were held at the Washtenaw County Jail and were to be arraigned on Wednesday.

Burglary
A flat screen television was stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home on Thursday.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Peachtree around 4:15 p.m. and found entry was gained through a side door.

No suspects are known at this time.

Stolen Vehicle
A vehicle was stolen from the 1200 block of Elmwood Drive in Ypsilanti Township on Monday night.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The vehicle is described as a bronze 1994 Honda Accord.

No suspects are known at this time.
