Prostitution
Two Ypsilanti Township residents were arrested in an undercover prostitution investigation on Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti Township Tuesday night.

Both suspects, 19 and 31 years old, were arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail after police said they solicited an undercover Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputy for sex.

The investigation occurred on Michigan Avenue, near Johnson Street.

“This location is notorious for prostitution and has been the subject of recent complaints by business owners in the area,” a report issued by the WCSO today said.

The first arrest was made at 6:20 p.m. The second was made at 9 p.m.

Possession of Stolen Property
A 15-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested Tuesday for possession of stolen property connected to a burglary the previous night.

Deputies were called to Ford Boulevard, near Ecorse Road, at 1:30 p.m., where it had been reported the teen was in possession of the stolen property.

Once the suspect was located the report was confirmed and the teen was arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center.

The burglary had occurred at the 2300 block of Ponderosa Court in Ypsilanti Township.

Burglary
A guitar was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Tuesday.

Deputies responded to the 1300 block of Evelyn Street at 3:20 p.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained through a side window.

Suspects are unknown at this time.
