Deputies looking for information on two robberies in police summary

Armed robbery
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for information about the armed robbery of an Ypsilanti Township restaurant Tuesday night.

According to a release issued by police this afternoon, a single suspect, armed with a black handgun, entered the business on the 2100 block of Whittaker Road at 8:50 p.m. and demanded money.

“The subject received the money and fled the location on foot, to a nearby parking lot where he got into a vehicle,” the report said.

The suspect, pictured in this article, is described as a 20-year-old white male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue knit cap, mask and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or the WSCO tip line at 734-973-7711.

Strong-armed robbery
The victim of a strong-armed robbery in Ypsilanti Township received minor injuries when she was attacked while walking to her home Tuesday night.

Deputies responded to Grove Road, near Rawsonville Road at 8:20 p.m., where the victim reported the suspected had approached her demanding money and then assaulted her.

The unidentified suspect then fled the scene. He is described as a 25-year-old African American male with a heavy build. The victim said he is approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Burglary
Two televisions and a laptop computer were reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Evelyn Avenue at 8 a.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained through the rear window.

Suspects are unknown at this time.
