Boysl, girls teams finish first of 19 teams

Lincoln's Middle School cross country teams came away victorious Saturday at the Jefferson Invitational in Monroe.

Both the boys and girls team teams took first place out of 19 teams at the event.

The girls team was made up of: Marina Geider, Aleah Kramarcyzk, Kaitlyn Wimmer, Emily Czinski, Lexi Guziel, Adela Myles, Tiffany Gillespie, and Gabi Guerra.

The boys team brought back the second place trophy Saturday, but it was discovered there was a scoring error when the when the official results were updated Sunday. The Lincoln boys team narrowly edged out Monroe by one point to win the title.

The boys team included Robert Fienkiwicz, Brendan Pfeiffer, MinJarro Johnson, Chris Dixon and Ricky Wegryn.

In addition to the team titles, Lincoln athletes won both of the individual titles as well, with Marina Geider taking first place out of 95 girls and Robert Fienkiwicz taking first place out of 85 boys.

In the sixth grade race, Bryan Adamovicz finished sixth and Christopher Brower finished eighth out of 150 runners.

The cross country teams will compete this Wednesday at Hudson Mills in Dexter.

Derek Gonzales is the coach for Lincoln's boys and girls middle school track.
