Willow Run took control from the opening kickoff, beating Warren Conner Creek 42-0 on their homecoming Friday night.
The Flyers recovered the onside kick attempt to start the game, then capped off a seven play 50 yard drive with a Chavez Sims 10-yard touchdown run. The Junior running back had 72 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns.
Conner Creek would have trouble moving the ball all night, evident in their first drive which resulted in a fumbled punt attempt; the Flyers would take over on the Eagles 14-yard line.
A great catch from the 1-yard line by sophomore Nyshaun Marks would quickly put the Flyers up 12-0.
It wouldn’t get any better for the Eagles, on the ensuing possession special teams once again led to Flyer points. Senior Dion Leonard caught the kick at the line of scrimmage and ran into the end-zone for an 18-0 Flyer lead.
With a 24-0 lead, Marks scored his second touchdown of the game. Taking a screen pass and turning it into a 19-yard score. The Flyers would take the 30-0 lead into halftime.
With the game in hand, the Flyers came out in the second half and wanted to establish the running game.
Second half touchdown runs from Sims and Dominique Wilson pushed the lead to 42-0.
