Ypsilanti's Downtown Development Director resigned, effective immediately at this morning's YDDA meeting.
After two and a half years at the job, Brian Vosburg submitted his letter of resignation this morning. The resignation followed a closed session portion of the meeting, where YDDA board members were supposed to give an employee evaluation to Vosburg.
YDDA board chair Peter Rinehart did not share any details surrounding Vosburg’s resignation. The former director was unavailable for comment this afternoon.
“Next we are going to initiate a director search to make sure none of the momentum we have built is lost,” Rinehart said this afternoon.
In the interim, YDDA board members will fulfill Vosburg’s duties.
Rinehart said the YDDA would likely hold a special meeting to discuss the search process for a new director.
Vosburg also shares 25 percent of his time as Depot Town’s DDA director. Reinhart said the DTDDA is effectively without a director as well, but said the YDDA is “coordinating with interns” for the transition.
Sandee French, who serves on the DTDDA board, said her board had no knowledge Vosburg would resign.
“I spoke with (DTDDA board chair) Dave Wheeler and he found out after the fact from Brian,” French said this afternoon. “Our board wasn’t consulted, not even our chair.
“We had nothing that we could say about it, we had no input at all,” she said. “I’m just floored by it.”
Dave Curtis, YDDA board member said there was no performance evaluation given before Vosburg resigned.
