Two strong-armed robberies reported Monday

Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputies are investigating two strong-armed robberies reported in Ypsilanti Township Monday.

Deputies responded to the 3100 block of Washtenaw Avenue at 3:50 p.m. and International Drive, near Golfside Road, at 11 p.m. Victims in both incidents reported no major injuries.

The victim in the first incident said he was approached by two suspects requesting to use his cell phone. The two reportedly demanded his wallet after he let them use his cell phone.

"Shilow," a two-year-old German shepherd, was last seen round 9 a.m. in her owner's front yard on Tuttle Hill Road near Willow Road.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating the larceny of a female German shepherd from a home in Augusta Township this morning.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Tuttle Hill Road near Willow Road at approximately 11 a.m. The two-year-old K-9, named "Shilow," was last seen around 9 a.m. in her owner's front yard.

The man accused of shooting his son in the abdomen Tuesday was charged with attempted murder and remanded to the Washtenaw County Jail during his arraignment Thursday.

Gary Jones, Jr., 42, was arrested without incident Tuesday afternoon, when Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputies responded to the intersection of Clark Road and Macarthur Boulevard for a shooting in Superior Township.

Ypsilanti Twp. woman arrested for DUI

Driving under influence
A 31-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested Wednesday for operating her vehicle under the influence of expected intoxicants.

Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputies responded to a traffic crash at 9:40 p.m. on Washtenaw Avenue, near Kewanee Street, in Ypsilanti Township.

At the scene, deputies discovered the driver of the vehicle was under the influence. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail.

A report will be forwarded to the prosecutor.
