By Mark Tower
May. 26, 2010    ·    1:50 p.m.

A 21-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries early this morning after being shot in the back during an attempted burglary of a residence on the 2800 block of Roundtree Boulevard, the victim told police.

The resident reported to Washtenaw County Sheriff Office deputies responding to the scene at 12:40 a.m. today that four black men wearing do-rags and masks entered the apartment armed with hand guns. According to the account, the four gunmen were looking for money when an altercation began between the victim and the suspects, during which the victim was shot in the back.

The suspects fled the area in an unknown direction, and WCSO has not yet identified the four gunmen. The 21-year-old victim is being treated at an area hospital, but injuries are not life-threatening, the WCSO reported.
