For two periods it looked as if Lincoln hockey was not only going to break their winless streak against Chelsea, but they were going to decimate the Bulldogs in the process.

Ypsilanti High School is the city champ.
A week after routing Willow Run, the Phoenix girls basketball team gave Ypsilanti Lincoln the same treatment in a lopsided 57-28 win.
“I told the girls in the lockeroom that when you play someone from your own city, you have to go out and win those bragging rights,” head coach Chris Slater said.

From the outset, there was little Willow Run could do to stop Ypsilanti Friday, as the two women’s basketball teams went head-to-head at Ypsilanti High School.
The full court press, nine first-quarter points by senior guard Mariah Hawkins and their own youth was too much for the Flyers to overcome, as the Phoenix set the pace early and controlled the game until its 66-32 conclusion.
