Shots fired
A 36-year-old Superior Township resident was arrested early this morning after Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies responded to shots fired in Superior Township.
Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Macarthur Boulevard at 12:45 a.m., where it was reported the shots had come from “a large crowd gathering in the street.”
Police said the suspect began to run away from the group when deputies approached the scene. According to a report released by the department, the suspect was subdued after resisting arrest.
He was transported to the Washtenaw County Jail, and the report will be forwarded to the prosecutor.
Shoplifting
Two Ypsilanti Township residents were arrested Monday night after allegedly attempting to take $57 worth of cleaning supplies from an Ypsilanti Township business.
Deputies responded to the 2500 block of Ellsworth Road at 7:50 p.m. Police said the two suspects had tried to conceal the merchandise and walk out of the store. Both suspects were transported to the Washtenaw County Jail.
Police said one of the suspects, a 55-year-old man, had two prior arrest warrants for an expired license in Washtenaw County and open intoxicants in Allen Park. The other suspect was 57 years old.
