Ypsilanti Township authorizes litigation against Liberty Square

Teen leads police chase, burglary, stolen vehicle

Teenager arrested after police chase
A 15-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was arrested Monday after leading police on a car chase through Superior Township.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the vehicle in the 8800 block of Macarthur Boulevard at 7:30 p.m., but the driver refused to stop.

Police said the chase went through side streets until it stopped at the intersection of Rue Wilette and Rue Deaville in Ypsilanti Township, where the suspect fled on foot.

He was arrested a short time later and transported to the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center. Police said a hearing will take place later today.

The suspect is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing and eluding police.

Burglary
A television, computer monitor and assorted tools were reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday morning.

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Jeff Street, where it was discovered entry had been made through a side window and exit made through the side door.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Stolen vehicle
A burgundy 1990 Chevy four-door Caprice was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday.

Deputies responded to the 180 block of Mansfield Street, where it was reported the vehicle had been taken during the night.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Stolen vehicle
A blue 2007 four-door Pontiac was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday.

Deputies responded to the 2200 block of Woodview at 11 a.m., where it had been reported the vehicle had been taken during the night.

Suspects are unknown at this time.
