The Washington Wild Things scored early and often in the deciding third game of the series Tuesday night to beat the Midwest Sliders 15-3.
Ten runs in the first three innings helped the Wild Things (30-30) put the game away early.
The Sliders (27-31) scored in the third and fourth innings, but couldn’t break through to threaten the early lead.
Nolan Shaffer received his first loss with the Sliders since joining the team last week. Shaffer (1-1) will look to bounce back in his next start during the Sliders six game homestand beginning this Saturday.
Andy Schindling earned the win for the Wild Things. Schindling (4-0) hasn’t lost a decision yet this season.
The Sliders begin a three game set in Kalamazoo Wednesday before coming home to play the Wild Things again Saturday at Oestrike Stadium.
