Armed robbery at apartments on LeForge Road

Ypsilanti Police responded to a report of a man lying the street bleeding at 9:20 p.m. Monday near the I-94 overpass on Grove Street in Ypsilanti.

Upon arrival, officers said the 42-year-old victim had severe trauma to his head and face and said he did not remember what had happened. Officers found his wallet and keys nearby and witnesses reported they had seen two black males running from the scene, though police were unable to locate the suspects.

The victim is now in stable condition, according to Ypsilanti Police, and two suspects are being sought in connection with the incident. The first suspect is described by police as a black man, 5'7”, thin build, dark complexion, short afro, and last seen wearing tan/cream shorts and a long-sleeve black shirt. The second suspect is described by police as a black man, 5'7”, thin build, and last seen wearing a baseball hat, dark jeans, and a white t-shirt.

Two robbed at gun/knife point at LeForge apartments
Two men, ages 19 and 20, reported to Ypsilanti Police at 12:42 a.m. Wednesday that they were just robbed at gunpoint at an apartment building on LeForge Road in Ypsilanti.

The victims told police they went to meet a man named Ezra because they knew they could buy 3 iPhones and a laptop from him. When they arrived, they said, they followed Ezra into the building where they were confronted by two other men.

They were then robbed at knife and gunpoint while all three men went through their pockets. Reported stolen was a Blackberry, $400, and keys, though they were later recovered. The victims were able to confirm the identity of one suspect using a picture.

Police are looking for Ezra Joseph-Alan Flury, a 19-year-old black man last seen wearing a black jacket, and two unknown suspects. Ypsilanti police describe one as a black man, about 20 years old, 5'11”, thin build, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a gray baseball hat and carrying a knife. The other suspect is described by police as a black man, about 20 years old, 6'2”, thin build, last seen wearing a white zip-up hooded jacket with a multi-colored design and carrying a black handgun.

Update: Superior teens arraigned on fleeing from police
Two Superior Township residents arrested Sunday after fleeing on foot from deputies during a traffic stop were arraigned Monday both on charges of resisting and obstructing police.

Washtenaw County Sheriff Office (WCSO) deputies stopped the vehicle on 8800 block of MacArthur Boulevard in Superior Township, at which time both women fled the vehicle and were apprehended within a short distance.

The driver, Jakenya Renee Campbell, 19, and the passenger, Kenniea Rashae Jackson, 18, were both lodged in Washtenaw County Jail with a $1,000 bond. Pretrials for both have been scheduled for Monday.

Man arrested for not complying with court security
Two WCSO deputies reported a 19-year-old man refused to remove two cell phones from his backpack when requested to do so Monday at the 22nd District Courthouse in Ann Arbor.

Donte Cyrus Smith, an Ypsilanti Township resident, was arrested and lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail. Smith was arraigned Tuesday and lodged in the county jail with a $20,000 bond. His pretrial is scheduled for Tuesday on resisting and obstructing charges.

Suspect charged with destruction of police property
A 20-year-old Ypsilanti Township man was arraigned today after kicking the window out of a WCSO car when detained by deputies at about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The WCSO reported a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 2500 block of Holmes Road in Ypsilanti Township and discovered the driver was in possession of merchandise that had just been reported stolen by Citi Trends on Washtenaw Avenue in Pittsfield Township.

While waiting for Pittsfield Township Public Safety to arrive, the suspect kicked the side window out of the patrol vehicle he had been placed inside, according to deputies. When transported to a second patrol vehicle, deputies reported he tried to do the same thing but was unsuccessful.

The man was arrested and transported to Washtenaw County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Burglary
A resident on the 5500 block of Ellis Road in Ypsilanti Township reported to WCSO at 4:40 p.m. Monday that someone had broken into the home.

Deputies reported the basement window was smashed during the day to gain entry, but no suspects have yet been identified. Reported stolen were two diamond rings, a guitar, and headphones.

Burglary
A resident on Frederick Street in Ypsilanti reported to Ypsilanti Police at 5:19 p.m. Monday that someone broke into the garage.

Police reported that there was no apparent forced entry into the garage and have no suspects at this time. Reported stolen were two lawn mowers valued at a total of $9,000.

A WCSO deputy responded to a reported burglary at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday on the 1200 block of Concord in Ypsilanti Township.

Upon arrival, the deputy discovered entry was gained through the front door and a television and laptop were taken. Suspects are unknown at this time.

A burglary was reported to WCSO at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday on the 1500 block of Grove Road in Ypsilanti Township.

Deputies determined entry was gained through the back door and miscellaneous items were taken from the garage. No suspects have yet been identified.

A WCSO deputy responded to the report of a burglary at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday on the 1500 block of Village in Ypsilanti Township.

The deputy reported entry was gained through a bathroom window and nothing was taken from the apartment, though the inside had been ransacked and several items were destroyed. Suspects are unknown at this time, the WCSO reported.
