Arrests and arraignments for stolen vehicles in police summary

Selling drugs
Two area residents were arrested Friday when police discovered they were selling marijuana and cocaine in Superior Township.

Two Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputies made contact with the two suspects at 11:45 p.m. on the 9000 block of Macarthur Boulevard.

The suspects fled on foot when deputies approached them. Deputies located the suspects in a nearby residence and both were arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail.

The first suspect, a 29-year-old Superior Township, will be charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute in a school zone and resisting arrest.

The second suspect, an 18-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident, will be charged with resisting arrest and obstructing justice.

Stolen vehicle arraignment
Two Ypsilanti Township teenagers were arrested Monday for driving a stolen vehicle.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Studebaker Avenue, near Chevrolet Street at 5 p.m., when it was discovered the vehicle was reported stolen out of Ypsilanti city.

The two suspects, 18 and 19 years old, were both arrested ant transported to the Washtenaw County Jail. They will be arraigned later today.

Stolen vehicle arrest
The Ypsilanti resident accused of stealing a car from an Ypsilanti Township home Saturday was arraigned Monday and issued a $5,000 bond.

The incident occurred at 1 a.m. on the 160 block of Jerome Street. When deputies responded to the scene, the vehicle's owner identified the 21-year-old suspect as James Daniel Lester.

Police said Lester took a silver two-door 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo from the victim's residence.

Lester's pre-trial is scheduled for Feb. 17.

Stolen vehicle
A van was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday.

Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Roundtree Boulevard at 7 a.m., where it was reported a dark green 1993 Conversion Van had been stolen during the night.

The vehicle has a ladder on the rear, rust on the driver's side and the right rear fender flare is missing.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

A vehicle was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Saturday.

Deputies responded to the 7400 block of Kensington Court at 5:50 a.m., where the red four-door 2008 Mitsubishi Galant was taken as it was warming up in the driveway.

The vehicle has a rose in the back window. Suspects are unknown at this time.

Stolen vehicle
A vehicle was reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Saturday.

Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Roundtree Boulevard at 4:15 p.m., where a white four-door 1996 Chevy Caprice was taken from the parking lot.

The vehicle is an old police vehicle, with a spotlight on the driver's side and sliver striping that circles the vehicle.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
A flat screen TV and miscellaneous jewelry were reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Davis Street at 12:25 p.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained through the back door.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
A snow-blower and quick-charge battery were reported stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Monday.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Fall River at 4:50 p.m., where it was discovered entry had been gained into the garage through an open door.

Suspects are unknown at this time.

Burglary
A sliver radio and CD player were reported stolen from a Superior Township home Saturday.

Deputies responded to the 9200 block of Macarthur Boulevard at 8 p.m., were it was discovered entry had been gained through the sliding glass door.

Suspects are unknown at this time.
